Chris Brown On Win Over Shrewsbury Town
PDP Lead Coach Chris Brown was pleased with the Youth Team’s performance in their win over Shrewsbury Town on Saturday.
“Performance wise, it was probably where we needed to be at,” said Brown.
“We’ve not performed in the last couple of weeks. The attitude hasn’t been where it’s need to be, and it’s affected the performances.
“But everyone was brilliant today [Saturday]. There was a real team ethic and mentality, and it showed with how we played, especially in the first-half.
“Overall, the performance was much better and what we’ve needed as a team, because over the last couple of weeks we’ve not done as well.
“It’s pleasing to see that we’ve turned a corner, and hopefully we can continue that in the games that follow until the end of the season.
“We’ve got a lot of excellent players out there and they’ve got to keep working as a team. Once they’ve done that, they can see the rewards that they get from it.
“We’ve been desperately wanting a performance and we got that. At times we got things wrong, and we will do, but overall what we’ve been looking for as a collective, we got today.
“We’ve stuck to what we’ve needed to do and trained well. We’ve worked on a few things that needed to be worked on and we just wanted the ownership from the players. They took that on and performed today, which I’m really pleased about.”
