Dan Adshead Named League One LFE Apprentice Of The Year

Rochdale Football Club is proud to announce that Daniel Adshead has been named as League One’s LFE Apprentice of the Year.

The fantastic news has been revealed by the EFL ahead of its annual awards evening which is due to take place in London next month.

Adshead, a Dale Academy graduate who has been at the Club since he was eight-years-old, made his first team debut in September 2017 when he was just 16.

Since then, he has gone on to make 24 appearances, including 15 this season.

This season, he captained the side in Dale’s Checkatrade Trophy tie against Leicester City Under-21s in November, before scoring his first senior goal for the Club a month later in the same competition, when Rochdale beat local rivals Oldham Athletic.

Adshead has also enjoyed international success during the 2018/19 campaign, after being called up to the England Under-18 squad for a tournament in Spain in November. He marked his Young Lions’ debut with a memorable goal against the Netherlands.

In addition, the midfielder was named in the LFE’s ‘The 11’ for December, recognising his outstanding efforts across all aspects of the apprenticeship programme, both on and off the pitch.

Congratulations, Dan!
