Match Report | Dale 1-2 Fleetwood Town

Dale were beaten 2-1 by Fleetwood Town in the EFL Youth Alliance League on Saturday.

The visitors took the lead when a cross from the right found Jamie Cooke in the Dale area. He controlled before turning and firing the ball into the bottom corner.

Dale equalised shortly after the break when Peter Thomas seized on a loose first touch. He drove into the area and finished calmly at the near post.

Thomas was denied a second shortly after when he turned Louie Chorlton’s cross from the right on goal, but saw the effort stopped by the goalkeeper, before Keaton Mulvey’s follow up was well blocked.

The visitors netted the winner from the penalty spot late on, although Dale came close to another equaliser when Oliver Patrick’s shot was tipped onto the inside of the post by the Fleetwood stopper.
