First-Team Debut: 4th September 2018 vs Bury (H)

Matheson became Rochdale AFC’s youngster ever player when he came on as an early substitute in a Checkatrade Trophy tie at home to Bury.

The young full-back made history for Dale, scoring against Manchester United at Old Trafford in the Carabao Cup third round. Rochdale drew the game 1-1, eventually losing out on penalties to the Premier League giants.
