We Showed Great Professionalism – Chris Brown
PDP Lead Coach Chris Brown spoke of his delight following the Youth Team’s 3-0 victory away at Tranmere Rovers.
Goals from Keaton Mulvey and Morgan Moreland (2) ensured Dale were victorious to record back-to-back wins.
Speaking after the game, Brown said: “I think from start to finish we were quite professional in what we did, playing some good stuff in possession.
“Even before the sending off we were positive; we had a good end product as well which is what we’ve been working on and our shape was much better.
“It’s positive for the lads especially coming off the back of last week. There’s playing well and then there’s getting the results which we’ve got today which is really pleasing for us.”
Dale recorded their first clean sheet since October of last year, when they drew 0-0 with Shrewsbury Town.
The Dale boss was pleased with how resolute his side were all over the pitch to help secure all three points.
“We’ve been working on a lot in training regarding the defensive aspect of recovering, pressing, stopping crosses and getting back into shape quickly and we showed that today,” he continued.
“They had two players upfront who were quick and lively, but we dealt with them well which is really pleasing for us defensively.
“The whole back four and the goalkeeper did really well.”
Morgan Moreland scored a brace for the second consecutive game, helping Dale on their way to victory.
Brown spoke highly of the youngster and believes he is improving with every game.
“When he’s on it, no one can play next to him. When he’s driving with the ball at his feet, he’s excellent and his finishing techniques and skills are really good.
“He’s just got to improve on his performance off the ball which he has done in the last two games which he has been rewarded for with his goals.
“We’ve been making some positive strides and some good improvements as a team collectively so it’s onwards and upwards from here.”
