Youth Team Report | Dale 3-1 Accrington Stanley

The Youth Team came from behind to beat Accrington Stanley 3-1 in the EFL North West Youth Alliance League.

The visitors took the lead inside the opening minute, but Florian Yonsian levelled for Dale before the break.

Yonsian put Dale in front with his second with just under 20 minutes remaining, before Morgan Moreland made sure of all three points late on.

Stanley broke the deadlock after just 50 seconds, when a low ball from the left flank was turned home at the back post from 12-yards.

Dale goalkeeper Morgan Piper held on to a low effort to his left moments later, before he saw an effort come off the top of his crossbar after Stanley had created a one-on-one opportunity.

Dale began to grow into the game as Yonsian fired wide on the turn and Toby Phillips tested the visiting goalkeeper’s handling with an effort from 20-yards.

Yonsian levelled matters seven minutes before the break with an excellent header, glancing Juwon Hamzat’s cross down into the far corner and in off the upright.

Florent Hoti had a low effort well held before the interval, before Lewis Bradley saw a shot deflected wide at the start of the second-half.

Dale were on top after the break, as Hoti’s curling effort was well held, before Yonsian put his side ahead.

He drove into the left side of the area and fired low into the far corner to double his tally.

With time running out, Moreland wrapped up the win, when he sent a cushioned volley into the far corner from Yonsian’s right-wing cross.

The win keeps Dale second in the league table.
